In part one of this two-part blog series, we went over some basics on how to prepare yourself and your space for an upcoming garage door installation. While this is one of the largest components on any given home, it’s actually fairly simple to prepare for such an installation — and doing so will help the entire process run as smoothly as possible.
At Crawford Door Sales, we’re happy to offer a wide range of garage doors, garage door operators and garage door installation services to clients throughout Utah. What are some of the other areas we typically recommend to clients when it comes to preparing for our team’s arrival on an installation? Here are a few.
Remember What You Ordered
Whether this means keeping your sales receipt on-hand or taking some time to review the door style, material and other specifications you chose for your project, it’s important that you remember what you ordered. This way, if there are any issues when our team arrives to install the door, we can quickly remedy the situation.
Get Kids and Pets Out of the Way
If you have any kids or pets running around your home, it’s important that they are kept out of the way on the day of installation. Not only will this help to keep them safe, but it will also help our team work more efficiently.
Both of these may serve as significant hazards to anyone working in or around the garage. In fact, there are even some cases where property owners have liability for any accidents or injuries that occur on their property — even if they weren’t the ones directly responsible.
Try to Be Home if Possible
While this isn’t a hard and fast rule for all garage door installation projects, it’s generally a good idea to be home if possible. This way, you’ll be able to answer any questions our team has about the project. It also allows you to see the final product in person and ensure that everything meets your expectations.
If You Can’t Be Home, Give Us a Key
If you can’t be home when our team arrives to install your new garage door, that’s not a problem. Just be sure to leave us a key so that we can let ourselves in and get started on the project. We’ll also need to know how to reach you in case we have any questions or run into any problems.
Know What to Ask
Finally, be prepared with any questions you may have for our team. This is your chance to get any final details squared away before we get started on the installation process.
If you’re thinking about having a new garage door installed anywhere in Utah, or if you just have some questions about the process, we encourage you to contact Crawford Door Sales today. Our team would be more than happy to answer any questions you have and help you get started on your upcoming project.
